Authentic Japanese Foods Ltd Cafe UP

You know when the food is so good you're still thinking about it later? This was one of those places for us. We checked this place out for lunch since it mentioned it was authentic Japanese. As we went during COVID, they closed the upstairs for now but the lady owner was so friendly to greet us downstairs where there was a table. Right from the start, the Japanese lady was so inviting and made us feel welcome. The location is a bit unexpected as it's located in the Bay Studios behind the car dealership. Fortunately you can park around there for free. We asked her for recommendations and she mentioned the katsu chicken as well as the vegan don. At the end we had three dishes; the katsu chicken with tuna rice balls, katsu baguette and vegan don. It was all so scrumptious and fresh, we devoured it all. The katsu chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside as it should be. The vegan don is still on my mind. I'm not a vegan but the way she cooked the cauliflower, mushrooms, homemade pickles and sauce with rice was so refreshingly different. I would pick that again! Even though her menu was small, you can taste the quality and care that she puts in making the food. This is a hidden gem. Domo arigato!

Wonderful authentic Japanese vibe. So warming welcome and serving from her. Ridiculously affordable prices. Everything just amazing. Highly recommended. Only, if you are a big group, call and order in advance. Otherwise it can take longer to get it. Tip: Try her homemade cakes after the meal.

Hidden gem. Delicious food, reasonably priced and the owner is lovely.

The lady who serving us was so friendly, we spend hour talking to her, about many topics. Food was exceptional, tempura curry was fantastic and very tasty. We finish with home made cakes, which is very rare occasion worldwide.

My friend showed me this place and I’m so glad she did! The food was really delicious! I had the Kastu Curry (£6.50), a slice of strawberry cream cake (£3) and a latte (£2.50). The food was so satisfying, freshly made to order. The owner bakes the cakes herself too and the cake I had was so delicious and so was the coffee Very affordable prices and it was a little quiet when I ate here but the customers that were there and the owner were lively and very friendly! I highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch/lunch especially if it’s on your way :) Can’t wait to eat here again!

Such a hidden gem. found this on my first day in Swansea as it was just across the university which i was visiting for work. The owner is such a welcoming lady and her smile and friendliness made the experience top notch. Definitely worth popping around for food & cake & coffee

Feels like you are having lunch with a very good friend! Atmosphere is very pleasant, welcoming and lovely. Food is next-level, so tasty and fills you up really well. But the best part is the owner - she took time to chit chat with me and even teach me how to make an origami crane! Lovely place, really outstanding!

What an amazing place! The food, atmosphere, and owner are all brilliant. I ordered their katsu curry and katsu don, which are both beautifully made with fresh ingredients. For dessert, I always go for the mocha cake, which is soft and creamy. The portion sizes are just perfect, and I always leave the café feeling satisfied. The café is nicely decorated, with lots of plants for scenery, as well as a games area, which is a great way to socialise while you wait for/finish your food. They have a pool table and a dart board, which are free to play. It is also located just across Bay Campus, which is very convenient for students when they are hungry. The owner is lovely and extremely welcoming! She always has a warm smile on her face, and it is always fun to talk to her. Overall, this is a 10/10 place, and I would highly recommend everyone come here!
